Here we are in Nauvoo. It seems like we've been gone a week already. The 3:30 am showtime at the airport has made for an extremely long day. However, there were sure lots of fun times along the way. As you can see in this picture, there was quite a variety of energy levels being utilized as we waited for our flight to Chicago. The flight was mostly uneventful, but we did discover that Chelsea Gray's luggage somehow ended up on the carousel with bags from Idaho. She's now officially our "Little Spud." Outside the terminal our bus appeared and picked us all up, except for a particular blonde who flew in later. While we waited, we went to the nearest McDonalds and spent an hour with food. The kids in LIGHT love their food and you can tell that Adam was really getting into his ice cream. Or was it the other way around? Anyway, a good time was had by all. As we bid adieu to the golden arches, we noticed a curious thing outside. With new-found energy, some LIGHT members needed to let loose with some energy of their own (see McDonald's Ballet below). Seasoned travelers with LIGHT have come to expect this kind of behavior and (believe it or not) actually join in. So, with everyone safe on board the bus, we zoomed back to the airport and picked up the aformentioned blonde and beat a path for Nauvoo. We watched the movie "Emma" that helped us gain a sense of the great people who once lived there. After about 4 hours or so, we rode into Nauvoo and felt a wonderful spirit there, especially as we passed the temple with it's golden spire. What a marvelous sight to see. We found our hotel and almost immediately ate our dinner in the hotel restaurant (all you can eat). I say, whoever offers such a deal, will always lose money when LIGHT comes to town. In the evening, Sis. Allred addressed us and gave a short history of the events that led up to the time when Nauvoo was founded. The evening found us enjoying different pursuits (swimming pool, cards in the hallways, walking to the temple, and yes, getting to bed early after a very long day.
